A LETTER FROM KONRAD
AND A CONFESSION FROM DOC
Liber Herr Kapps!

Ich habe gehört, dass sie vorhaben nächstes Jahr Polaroidfilme zu verkaufen. Ich möchte wissen wie man sich selber einen machen kann.

P.S.: Ich heiße Konrad und bin neun Jahre alt.

Danke für Deinen Brief. Ich muss wirklich sagen, dass es viel schwerer ist als gedacht, seinen eigenen Sofortbildfilm zu machen. Gottseidank haben wir hier mit einem kleinen aber fantastisches Team in der Impossible Fabrik in Enschede letztendlich (und ehrlich gesagt auch mit viel Glück) herausgefunden, wie man höchstwahrscheinlich mit einem anderen Rezept einen NEUEN Sofortbildfilm herstellen kann. Wenn alles klappt wird man diesen dann mit alten Polaroidkameras verwenden können. Aber noch ist es leider nicht soweit, und gerade letzte Woche ist wieder mal ein neues unerwartetes Problem aufgetaucht, das im Moment unsere ganze Aufmerksamkeit in Anspruch nimmt

Deswegen müssen wir leider auch unseren Präsentation in New York verschieben, welche wir am 22. Februar machen wollten. Aber wir geben natürlich nicht auf und haben uns jetzt ganz fest vorgenommen, Dir am

22. MÄRZ 2010

eine endgültige Antwort zu geben, ob unser Unterfangen jetzt wirklich "Impossible" ist oder hoffentlich doch nicht.


Wir werden unser bestes geben, damit Dir diese Antwort nicht nur ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht zaubern, sondern auch Deiner Kamera wieder ein "Klick" entlocken wird.

I heard that you plan to sell Polaroid film next year. Can you tell me how I can make one myself?

Dear Konrad,

Thank you for your letter! I have to admit, it turns out to be much more difficult than I thought it would be to make your own instant film. Fortunately our small but excellent team at the Impossible factory in Enschede has finally (with a lot of luck) found out that it is highly possible to produce a NEW instant film with a new recipe. If all goes well this film will be usable with old Polaroid cameras. But the time has not come yet - just last week a new, unexpected problem appeared which we are now trying to fix.

That's why we do have to reschedule our presentation in New York which was planned for February 22nd. Of course we are not giving up we will finally announce whether our mission is impossible or not on

22nd MARCH 2010.

We will do our best to be in the position to present a final answer that will make you smile and your camera "Click" again.
